This exhibition is jointly organized by the Italian-Italian Cultural Association and Arte Rocca (Rocca Art), with co-sponsorship from the China Student and Scholar Society of the Rome Academy of Fine Arts. The Italian participating team is led by three full-time professors from the Rome National Academy of Fine Arts: Eclario Barone, Pierluigi Berto, and Riccardo Ajossa.
Among them, Riccardo Ajossa presented his groundbreaking paper-based mineral pigment series. Inspired by a profound emotional resonance during his first visit to Zhangjiajie, China, the artist channels his awe and insight into Chinese landscapes onto textured paper and ink, creating a poetic vision of nature that transcends borders.
The organizers state that the exhibition centers on the theme of "Absence," serving not only as a philosophical exploration of existence and nothingness but also as a dynamic artistic mechanism. The Chinese concept of "emptiness" and "negative space" resonates deeply with the Italian Renaissance's use of perspective's "vanishing point." This invisible yet tangible spiritual experience, conveyed through concrete artistic traces and symbols, delivers a dual impact of visual and intellectual shock to the audience.
During the exhibition, a series of events including art forums, academic exchanges, and urban public art initiatives will be held.
