The Changping District's high-quality public cultural performance outreach program to grassroots communities is now in full swing. National Intangible Cultural Heritage Wuqiao Acrobatics has visited rural areas, delivering three immersive acrobatic performances at the East Market Train Show Stage in Xinzhuang Village, Xingshou Town, and Shuangquansi Temple in Xincheng Village.
The showcase, themed "Tradition, Innovation, and Heritage," kicked off at the Xinzhuang Village East Market Train Show. The performance began with a powerful double tall pole act, followed by captivating hula hoop routines that energized the crowd. The High Chair Stacking display climbed higher and higher, drawing gasps of amazement from spectators. The grand finale featured the Intangible Cultural Heritage Giant Jar act, reviving a century-old memory of Wuqiao acrobatics skills. In the second show, the performance opened with a striking group formation. Foot juggling demonstrated the performers' steady and agile mastery, while rhythmic hula hoop routines and synchronized somersaults kept the energy high. Multiple rounds of audience interaction were woven throughout, creating an atmosphere filled with continuous applause and laughter.
At Shuangquan Temple in Xincheng Village, Xingshou Town, audiences were treated to a captivating sequence of performances including Zhongfan (pole flag acrobatics), foot juggling, double somersaults, and ball skills. The innovative "Spacewalk" act, with its graceful movements and fresh choreography, earned enthusiastic applause from the crowd.
The Wuqiao Acrobatics Inheritance Center, a national-level intangible cultural heritage (ICH) institution, has participated in numerous international cultural exchange tours and won multiple domestic and international acrobatic competition awards. This immersive performance represents an important initiative by Changping District to deliver high-quality public cultural performances directly to grassroots communities. A district official stated that Changping will continue to integrate outstanding ICH projects with local tourism and culture scenes, launching more regular, compact, and high-quality immersive shows.
