Guangzhou's "Endless Swimming" Art Installation Exhibition Opens

The summer interactive exhibition "INFINITE POOL" at TaiKoo Hui Guangzhou has officially opened and will run until 7/30.

Partnering with Spanish architecture firm Meii_Estudio and Mexican digital artist José Cohen, the exhibition carves a "temporal rift" at the city's vibrant core. Meii_Estudio's signature work, PUL Urban Pool, makes its Asian debut, harmonizing with José Cohen's iconic digital imagery to create an artistic space that dissolves competitive tension.

This exhibition not only showcases Guangzhou Taikoo Hui's established status as an art landmark but also represents a pioneering experiment in placemaking.

Step into the exhibition space. Meii_Estudio's "PUL Urban Pool" features interwoven, staggered wooden slats in natural wood tones, forming a twisting, three-dimensional "Möbius strip" within a compact footprint. Looking down, the pale blue floor resembles a pool of clear water. Hundreds of high-saturation blue spheres are layered within the wooden slats—like frozen giant water molecules or summer visual notes leaping to life, quietly building energy ready to surge at any moment.

If Meii_Estudio provided the architectural framework, Mexican visual artist José Cohen's digital projections infuse the space with fluid emotion and rhythm. As you look up, suspended vertical screens echo the blue water below. The artist captures the athletes' body postures and trajectories during diving and swimming, translating their kinetic rhythms into tangible visual language. This creates a cross-dimensional dialogue between 2D digital waves and 3D physical installations. Even without touching the water, visitors experience the sensory illusion of water gliding over their skin through this visual resonance.
