The Asia-Pacific Youth Arts Festival 2026 kicked off on October 10 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 300 young artists from 15 Asia-Pacific countries are taking part, presenting works in painting, music, dance, theater, and digital arts.
Australia is represented by 20 emerging artists showcasing works that blend contemporary Australian art with Asia-Pacific influences. A highlight is the joint workshop combining Australian dot painting and Chinese ink wash painting traditions.
The festival runs through October 20, with public workshops and artist talks scheduled throughout.
